We went to see the San Francisco Gay Men's chorus perform tonight: they were doing their interpretation of a Charlie Brown Christmas; it was truly a great and memorable experience: diva's galore, political correctness and incorrectness, loads of fun!
San Jose is looking real good these days, with christmas lights, trees, and scenery everywhere!!! We went on the ferris wheel tonight, in a continuance of H's birthday... this can actually be a pretty cool city! Signing off for the night, Shy
So, we celebrated Herda's Birthday today! We decided to kick start the day with a round of golf at Sunol Valley Cypress course... the weather man was wrong... and we ended up playing in the rain for the better part of 5 hours !!!!! :( completely drenched, ragged as wet cats, we finished on the 18th with the greens soaked up like kitchen towels, and the holes overflowing with water! Sigh. Won't even go through the scores, except to say the Max won, followed by Peter, then Herda then me (no suprises here).
I've been taking lessons with this guy called Bill @ San Jose Municipal golf club... and he's been terrible; i think he broke whatever i had that worked. Hmph. We'll see. We're playing again tomorrow at Summit Pointe. Hopefully, things will go better there, even though it's a much harder course. At least, the forecast is on our side, 21 degrees celsius! :)
After golf, we headed back home for a warm, warm shower, some hot coco and spekulaas, as well as some pecan ice cream stuffed dates to celebrate H's birthday in style !
After that, a carb accentuated nap, and then we met up with Wes and Yolanda for dinner at one of our favourite places down town San Jose, called Scott's Seafood restaurant. Scott's is a small up midmarket chain in the bay area... where we had a nice dinner en famille.
Wes and Yolanda came over for dinner tonight... it's too bad none of their pictures came out, or else they'd be up here right now... in any case, dinner was made as per true dutch fashion (or should I say, op de nederlandse manier), and we had shrimp cocktail, and pastry stuffed with chicken & mushroom filling, lot's of yellow tail shiraz, and a wonderful dessert that Y. brought from IKEA... DAIM cake (Daim is actually from Sweden, Daim bars are just like Dime bars used to be. Milk chocolate with a crunchie caramel almond centre). Awesome dudes....
So, in America, they make these really cool air beds. They're self inflatable, which isn't really the hottest thing since sliced bread... but, check it out: it has an integrated self adjusting head rest !!!!!! AND... a REMOTE CONTROL!!!!! That is AWESOME!!!
But more importantly, really, is that it has MEMORY FOAM..... let's hope it rubs off !!!!!
Went hiking this morning, in a national park near our house, called "@lum Rock". It has about 13 trails, and was set up in the 19th century... I think we'll be going there quite often; it's really pretty, and you can catch deer, wild turkey (although we didn't see any this time around :( )...
Went on my 1st business trip this week... to Kansas City. I was having meetings with Sprint... they have a huge campus that looks the size of a large university (it even has its own supermarket!!!). It was really really cold, -11 degrees Celsius, so really didn't have the inclination to check things out in detail...
