Tonight, we met up with Max's cousin, Claude. I met Claude around 7 years ago, and the last time we got together, we had a fantastic time. We met up in Knightsbridge in 1998, at 11am in a cafe/restaurant. At 11am we ordered a bottle of white wine (I think it was Chardonnay...). By 1230pm, we had polished off 2 bottles, and Claude had the brilliant idea of giving us a tour of London through a pub crawl... this was a day, that despite all the alcohol, I will always remember!
In any case, Claude lives up in England, and works for Peugot. Really nice guy, and it was wonderful to see him after all these years!
We had duck confit (one of the best I've had in Paris, I must say), and an assiette de charcuterie. Max made the mistake of ordering the Andouillette (I think that's pig entrails, someone correct me if I'm wrong). If you have the chance and you are in Paris, I would highly recommend the Porte-Pot (bistot a vins - cave - epicerie):
Le Porte - Pot
14 rue boutebrie, 75005, Paris
The duck confit is to die for... and the wine: we had a red from the Languedoc region; 16 euros, and really really good....
